ἐπί: upon, on.—I. adv., thereon, on top, thereby, besides; esp. ἔπι = ἔπεστι or ἔπεισι, οὔ τοι ἔπι δϝέος, ‘thou hast nought to fear,’ Il. 1.515, Od. 8.563.
